Description

4-H shootingsportsprogramsand the organizedprogramin WestonCountyhelps youth develop many skills. Members in the Weston County shooting sports program attend weekly practices to improve their skills and learn participate in county shoot-offs participate in Summer Camp shooting activities and travel to compete in state and national competitions. All practices arefacilitated and taught by a group of volunteer leaders. The Weston County 4-H program strives to continue life-skill development through participation in the shooting sports projects. Youth participating in shooting sports programs learn the value of marksmanship the importance of safety and the responsible use of firearms the principles of hunting and firearmuse amongmanyothers. Additionally members participating in the shooting sports programs work one-on­ one with adult leaders providing them with an environment of support and safety to learn and grow. This formatprovides youngpeople with theopportunitiesto developlife­ skills self-worth and ethics. Theshooting sportsprogramin Weston Countycontinues to be one of themost popular and boasts some of thehighest enrollmentamongst the 4-H projects. Asmembership continues to grow so does theskilllevel of members enrolled.
